Hello! My name is Esther. Nice to meet you here on Postcrossing!
I’m a mum to three wonderful daughters, aged 17 and 12 (twins). I used to be a primary school teacher, working with 4- and 5-year-olds. But three years ago, I had Covid, and since then, I’ve been living with Post-Covid. Unfortunately, I’m not able to teach at the moment. I’m doing better than I was a year ago, though, so I remain hopeful that my health will continue to improve.
I love nature. Being in forests, surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, and listening to birds sing gives me a peaceful feeling. I’m especially fond of birdwatching. My favorite place in The Netherlands is the island Terschelling. It has beaches, dunes, forests, and so many birds! Nature inspires me to be creative: I enjoy drawing, painting, and photography. I also love reading and growing flowers and vegetables in my small garden.
When I send a card, I always try to match the recipient’s preferences. I hope you’ll do the same for me!
I adore cards filled with words—so please write about yourself, your town, your day, your dreams, your favorite book, or your life motto. What bird do you find most beautiful or impressive in your country? That makes the card extra special and personal. If you like, you can even add some drawings or illustrate the story you’d write!
I’d be thrilled to receive a colorful card featuring:
- a map of your city, state, or country
- birds from your country
- nature illustrations
- colorful art (e.g. impressionism, art nouveau and expressionism)
- impressive skies (stars, moon, clouds, northern lights, rainbows)
- nature based spiritual (Celtic, Buddhism, Native, Indigenous, Paganism)
- a picture of your town, landmarks, or landscapes from your country
- art by Charley Harper, Angela Harding, Hannah Willow, Katsushika Hokusai, Ulla Thynell, or Mucha
Or anything else you think I would really like.
If you happen to be a Tori Amos fan, I’d love to hear about your favorite song or concert experience!
Looking forward to hearing from you!
